Olzhas Bektenov checks  implementation of President's instructions in Akmola region

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov is on a working visit to Akmola region. Head of the Government checked the progress of spring field work in the region, met with agricultural producers and visited a poultry farm in Makinsk.

Prime Minister got acquainted with the sowing campaign of LLP "Zhuravlevka-1", where the sowing complex is currently being filled with seeds, as well as sowing of oilseeds. The partnership is one of the leading agro-formations of Bulandyn district. The farm is fully provided with seeds and fuels and lubricants. The area of spring sowing this year will be 88 771 hectares. Emphasis is placed on sunflower: almost 16 thousand hectares have been allocated for the crop, of which about 4 thousand hectares have been sown. In addition, oats, peas, flax and rape will be grown on the fields this year. In general, the sowing campaign has started in the region: 510 thousand hectares have already been sown.

Here Head of the Government was also presented varieties of oilseeds, legumes, fodder crops, obtained as a result of breeding in the Scientific and Production Centre of Grain Farming named after Barayev. In total, 105 varieties were created in the institution and entered in the state register of Kazakhstan, currently the production of original seeds is carried out on 18 crops, 50 varieties. Olzhas Bektenov emphasised the need to develop science and application of achievements in the agricultural industry.

During the working trip Head of the Government discussed with the heads of large agricultural enterprises of the region topical issues of the industry development. General Director of PK "Izhevskiy" for the production of eggs, dairy products, poultry meat, flour and mixed fodder Timur Zhangurazov addressed the issue of increasing the production of domestic fertilisers, General Director of the largest enterprise of the region for the cultivation of oilseeds "Zhuravlevka-1" Arman Kudaibergenov voiced the need to increase the standard for the calculation of diesel fuel, Director of "En-Dala" LLP, a company for growing grain, oilseeds, breeding horses and cattle for meat, Timur Pshenov addressed the question on investment subsidy programmes to agricultural producers.

Olzhas Bektenov gave appropriate comments on all the issues raised and instructed the Akimat and relevant ministries to keep them under special control, including on timely shipment of fuel and lubricants and maximum coverage of farms by measures of state support in the form of subsidies and soft loans. Thus, this year the region has been allocated 83 thousand tonnes of diesel fuel at a reduced cost, which will fully meet the needs of farmers during the sowing campaign. This year the agrarians of the region plan to apply to the soil about 258 thousand tonnes of mineral fertilizers, which is 57% more than last year. At the same time, Prime Minister stressed that the domestic market is a priority for the sale of domestic fertilisers.

"On the instructions of the Head of State this year we have increased the volume of financing of the agro-industrial complex. Now our common task is to meet the deadlines and qualitatively carry out spring sowing. Food security and export potential depend on it. The Government is providing all measures of support. On problematic issues we need to promptly inform the Akimat and the relevant Ministry," Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasised.

During the working visit Prime Minister familiarised himself with the production process of Makinskaya poultry farm in Bulandyn district, as well as plans for further capacity building. Since the beginning of the current year the poultry farm has produced 18.7 thousand tonnes of meat worth 18.6 billion tenge. During the inspection of the workshops, attention was paid to modern technologies in the field of incubation, growing, slaughtering and waste processing with the use of equipment from world manufacturers. The Makin poultry farm ensures regular supply of poultry meat to the domestic market and also exports products to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia.

"The government is working on the task set by the Head of State to increase the share of processed products in the agro-industrial complex and bring it to 70 per cent. The priority is to develop deep processing, support existing production facilities and create conditions for opening new enterprises. Domestic products should not only cover the needs of our market, but also successfully compete abroad. It is important to integrate new technologies, it increases productivity and directly affects the quality," Olzhas Bektenov said, emphasising that the state will provide the necessary support for this purpose.

Today, in addition to Makinskaya poultry farm in Ust-Kamenogorsk there is a plant for production of sausages and delicacies from poultry meat of own production.  Also, Head of the Government was informed about plans to open Almaty poultry farm for 240 thousand tonnes on the territory of Zhambyl and Karasai districts. The project is expected to become the largest in the CIS. It is planned to start construction next year. In general, the capacity increase will strengthen food security through full coverage of the country's domestic needs in poultry meat, as well as increase export potential. In addition, there are plans to build a 100,000 tonnes poultry meat deep processing plant in Almaty region.

This year, the region's food industry enterprises produced goods worth 52.6 billion tenge, or 104.3% compared to the same period last year. In 2024-2026 it is planned to launch 74 large investment projects for 123.6 billion tenge. The Prime Minister instructed to keep the timely implementation of projects under special control.
