Held an expanded meeting of the faction of AMANAT party with the participation of the Prime Minister and members of the Government. Olzhas Bektenov informed the deputies about the implementation of the Addresses and the Presidential Election Programme for 2023-2029 "Fair Kazakhstan - for everyone. Now and forever".

Speaker of the Majilis, Chairman of the faction of AMANAT party Yerlan Koshanov opened the expanded meeting of the faction with congratulations on the upcoming Constitution Day. He emphasised that every year in his Addresses the Head of State sets large-scale tasks aimed at improving the well-being of people and development of the country.

"Qualitative implementation of the instructions voiced in the Addresses, the President's Election Programme is our common main task. Already now we can confidently say that all the Addresses and promises of the Head of State are being fulfilled in full. They are aimed at solving vital problems of every citizen, every family, every town and village. We need to keep the momentum. The Parliament, the Government, local executive bodies and civil society should work coherently and thoroughly in this direction," Yerlan Koshanov said.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov spoke about the work of the Government on the implementation of the President's Addresses and election programme.

"The Head of State has outlined the task to bring the growth of the economy to $450 billion by 2029. This is a strategic benchmark. The Government is working on fundamental changes in the structure of the economy. Manufacturing industry, machine building, information technology and other advanced, high-tech and innovative areas should become its basis," Olzhas Bektenov said.

Prime Minister said that the Government is carrying out large-scale work to support domestic producers. 17 major projects with investments of more than 15 trillion tenge are being implemented, which will create 26 thousand jobs and reduce import dependence by more than 1.5 trillion tenge. At the same time, the number of contracts concluded with Kazakh enterprises within the framework of public procurement has increased 1.4 times, and their total amount has increased by 40%.

The head of the Cabinet also spoke about measures to support the country's agro-industrial complex, aimed at the development of modern agro-technologies and diversification of agriculture.

"This year the problems of financial and logistical support of the sowing campaign have been solved. The amount of financing of spring field and harvesting campaigns has increased 4 times, up to 580 billion tenge. This is the largest amount of funding in recent years. Large-scale work is being carried out under the ‘Auyl Amanaty’ project. Over the past two years, microcredits worth more than 100 billion tenge have been issued to villagers, as a result of which about 20 thousand citizens have opened their own businesses," the Prime Minister said.

Olzhas Bektenov emphasised that the Government places special emphasis on addressing social issues and more than half of the state budget is directed to the social sphere.

"For example, the amount of scholarships for college students has increased by 50%, bachelor's degree - by 20%, master's and doctoral studies - by 15%. From 1 September, the scholarships of 445 thousand students will increase. A social payment for workers employed in harmful labour conditions has been introduced. To date, this type of social assistance has received more than 9 thousand workers in the amount of 1.7 billion tenge," he explained.

Prime Minister also spoke about the mechanism to reduce the number of families in difficult life situations through employment, microcredit, subsidies, their involvement in the health insurance system.

Following the discussion of the report with the deputies of the faction, Chairman of the Majilis Yerlan Koshanov concluded that despite the difficult geopolitical situation in the world and natural disasters in the country, the main social obligations of the state are fulfilled in full. At the same time, he also dwelt on a number of issues of concern to the population and requiring priority attention from the Government - flood prevention, rising prices, unemployment, preparation for the heating season, lack of schools and hospitals. In addition, the Speaker of Majilis emphasised the strategic importance of NPP construction for the successful future of the country.

"The most pressing issue, which is now being actively discussed, is the construction of a nuclear power plant. The deputies of AMANAT faction fully support the idea of the Head of State to hold a referendum. AMANAT is ready to participate in this campaign together with the Government, to organise large-scale information and awareness-raising work. We are confident that all political parties, non-governmental organisations of our country believe in the progressiveness of the President's initiative to build a nuclear power plant and together with us will make every effort for its implementation," Yerlan Koshanov said.

Summing up the results of the session, the Speaker of the Majilis expressed gratitude to the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers Olzhas Bektenov and all members of the Government for fruitful joint work. He noted that the faction for the second time in a row nominates a candidate for the post of Prime Minister, and the committees of the Majilis agree on the candidature of each member of the Cabinet. Therefore, the deputies and the Government bear equal responsibility both to the population and to the President for the fulfilment of all instructions of the Head of State. It is this approach that allows to implement in practice the principle proclaimed by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev "a strong President – an influential Parliament – an accountable Government", the Chairman of the Majilis emphasised in conclusion.
